My November.

Writing all of the words!

But whats this? No blog posts since a few months ago? That is because I have been spending the entierty of November neglecting laundry, dishes, blogging, art and TBR books. Oh and Munch (haha, but not really Munch, because, you know, he is a human child, and even if you wanted to pretend he isn’t swinging from the celing fan, it doesn’t mean that your dreams will come true.)

I decided to opt for some ME time and do something that I have truly come to love.

Writing my first novel.

I participated and won NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month)! *Claps for Cat!*

NaNo is pretty much a personal goal and challange where you try to write 50,000 words in 30 days starting on November 1st and ending on November 30th. There is a website to calculate your number of words, a community where you too can bond with the insane and minorly crazy writers of the ages and a fun interactive blog space.

I have wanted to participate ever since I learned about it in collage 6 years ago, but never thought I had the time, energy and story to carry through thousands of words.

Then all of a sudden, 2 days before it was suppose to start, I was ready! I leapt into the pit of creativity and came out covered in its glorious fairy magic and sparkling dust!

Sure my hair is frazzled and my eyeballs are falling out (Too soon for a walking dead joke?) But I feel so overcome with joy in completing this first step to becoming a published author.

Step 1 was to write all the words. CHECK

Now I am finding step 2 to be the harder part. Now I am going back into the words that I thought were ON PONTE and realizing that most of it is garbage, and un organized garbage at that. (But if the Millinium Falcon can be refered to as such, then I guess I will take it as a compliment.)

But it is all apart of the process… or so I am told.

I feel like stacking rocks helps balance the world a little bit  So I create rock formations where ever I go.

I will keep my blog updated more often, if only for my weekly diary needs.

Oh! And that reminds me, I have also been taking a huge leave from Facebook.. because, politics ruin lives. So I have turned to twitter instead, which I am using as a solace for personal thoughts, commentary and writing laments, duh!

If you want to follow, please feel free to check out my twitter handlebut know that it is my solace and so I am not responsable for the (non political) rantings and ravings of writer/mom

I will have a link to my handle on the main page.

Cherrs friends!

Happy Writing

  1. Congrats on winning NaNoWriMo! You’re right, revision is a major job. I did my first novel in MS Word. Finding a better tool for the novel-writing job has made revisions much easier.

Good luck with the next steps!
